Clinical Training Program

Dr. Amanda Gerber has been providing clinical supervision to Doctoral level trainees since
2019. In 2024, she acquired Interaction Dynamics, continuing its legacy with a renewed vision
inclusive of a focus on training, supervision, and clinical excellence. Dr. Gerber is an adjunct
faculty member at Adler University and on the ACEPT Chicago executive committee.

Supervision Philosophy
At Interaction Dynamics, Dr. Gerber leads a structured and enriching Post-Doctoral Fellowship
and Advanced Practicum training program and offers supervision for clinicians pursuing
advanced licensure.

Dr. Gerber is deeply committed to developing future clinicians who are ethical, effective and
confident. Helping each of them find their own professional voice and expertise. The supervision
model blends both developmental and integrative approaches, grounded in the belief that
professional growth is a lifelong process.

Through collaboration, supervisors work with trainees to focus on clinical competence, building
professional identity development, self-of-the-therapist exploration, and the confidence to make
complex clinical decisions. Supervision includes identifying core strengths, clarifies areas for
growth, and develops goals that support evolving clinical competence. The trainee develops a
style of assessment, treatment planning, and intervention—leading to more effective client
outcomes and deeper professional fulfillment.

environment—despite working within a field that often leans toward autonomy and isolation.
Our clinical team is committed to maintaining a culture of professionalism that also embraces
authenticity, support, and even a sense of humor. We believe that bringing our full selves to the
work—human, imperfect, and evolving—benefits both our colleagues and the clients we serve.
We also actively strive to make our team more inclusive and representative of the communities
around us. This includes both personal and organizational commitments to equity, representation,
and cultural responsiveness.

Trainees who are open to self-reflection, willing to explore areas of growth, and eager to receive
